At first glance, this jacket looks very disco-ball and slightly intimidating. That said, Aqua’s sequined jacket, now $99.00 from $198.00 (@ bloomingdales.com), is a daily pick for more reasons than the fact that it’s super shiny.
Originally, a look that went down Kenzo’s Spring 2010 runway had inspired me to pair this bold choice, with an even bolder one, aka, ‘the jumpsuit.’
The term itself has left me bewildered since the trend snuck back into the fashion limelight. I’ve avoided it at all costs because I feel it’s a piece that could very easily, go horribly wrong. However, Kenzo opened my eyes.

I love the look of that eighties inspired jacket thrown loosely over a jumpsuit. I’m not a fan of the busy print so I went with a navy that is embellished with some ruffle action (image below).
Here’s a close up of the sequined jacket, just to get warmed up on the way to seeing how to wear the look:

I loved the idea of the super slinky and uber femme silk navy jumpsuit, very black and blue, but in a good way. Next, a strappy platform was the perfect pairing, and leave it to Charles by Charles David to come to the rescue with the ‘Windmill’ sandal. Keep in mind, this strappy platform heel will take you from this look and into so many others. Next, I’m obsessed with the gold plated, tiger’s eye cocktail ring with it’s multi-color encrusted details. This goes just as well with an evening look as it would with a t-shirt and jeans. Polish off this Kenzo/studio 54 look with a simple black envelope clutch by Cheap Monday and you’re good to go.
The accessories stay pretty neutral and dark allowing the sequined jacket to pop against the sophisticated navy which is exaclty how to keep a fashion balance and avoid diving into the deep end.

The jumpsuit is something you either love or hate. Actually, so is a full-on, sequined blazer so let your fashion voice be heard on this one.
