Daily Pick: Vanessa Bruno’s Orange T-shirt dress

Spring has already stomped down the runways, but the weather outside for most of us is only just beginning to show signs of life. I figured it’s time for a little color infusion, and what better way to pull this off than a resort look revolving around a super-citrus orange, ruffled hem, t-shirt dress from Vanessa Bruno.

An up close and personal view…

This color is a bold one, and the hem on this T-shirt dress makes it an original. A far-from-commercial cut like this is also known to cause confusion in the eye of onlooking fashionistas. So, no stress, stop slanting your head to the side, and let’s walk through this so I can show you one take on how to wear this dress…

In staying with the, resort-y (technical fashion term) feel, it made perfect sense to bring an embellished flat sandal into the equation. This ‘Hermosa’ sandal from Coconuts by Matisse (could the name be any more fitting I ask you), is hitting all of the right points. The colorful and metallic beading combine with a mini-heel that will save you from any pain when it comes to the ole’ arches. Not sexy, but it’s true.

Next step was this completely slouchy ‘Cape Cod’ (I mean really, if the names don’t tell you what the look is about, I don’t know what will) knot hobo from bananarepublic.com, now $148 from $198. You could fit your life, along with a small child (not I reccommend that, just making a point), into this bag. The neutral beige will also work back to pretty much any color you have lurking in your closet.

Finally, a couple of soft gold touches to mimic the sun…

First, you’ve got to have a  go-to pile of rose gold bangles. These ‘drop-it’ bangles in from Jules Smith are perfect to have on hand at all times. There are nine to a set so very little skimping here for the price ($90…gold vermeil, aka covered and not solid gold). Always a plus.

Pull together this bright orange t-shirt dress equation with Sonya Renee ‘Sun Drop’ disc earrings (no seriously, I could not have written these product titles better myself). They’re understated, chic, and won’t get in the way of the breeze that hits you right off the water. At $50.00, they’re a no-brainer.

And now, go fashionably ride off into the sunset…

So, is orange your thing? Let me know what you think…

I could go on all day long when it comes to fashion color infusion via a super bright t-shirt dress, but then I’d never get to the rest of the looks. See how to wear more daily picks pulled from a lengthy and ever-changing list of current fashion trends here.
