This week’s product pick Mash-Up started with a set of Day Birger et Mikkelsen bangles. The colors and textures, all mixed into one set, define summer for me. Sure, right now they’re a trend, but bangles have been around for awhile (understatement). By ‘awhile,’ I’m referring to decorated bangles  excavated in India from 322 BCE, a.k.a back in the day. Way back. Some trends just stick.

Hindu tradition incorporates bangles in the matrimonial ceremony. The bride piles on as many glass bangles as possible, and when the last bracelet breaks, the honeymoon is over. Let’s just say, I’d be reinforcing my bangles with steel thank you:)
