Thumbs up or down? BCBG’s ‘Jules’ Leather Sandal.

0 Comments 05 July 2010

My Sandal Review:

I’ll get right to it. Am I a fan of this black leather sandal? Yes. A resounding yes. Let me not try to sway you one way or the other here. My opinions are just that. That said, if it were uncomfortable, that would have been the first sentence out of my mouth.

I was on the fence on this one. Usually, I’d wait it out to see what the markdown would be, but it fit too well into the look I was going for so I went full price.

I expected some discomfort with the leather cuff and t-strap. I cannot begin to tell you how far off my initial assumptions were. I knew the smaller heel (it’s all relative; my average is now over three inches) would make life a little easier, but you never know what the pitch (angle from heel to ball of foot) will bring you when you buy.

I can now safely say that these BCBG ‘Jules’ sandals are going to get plenty of wear. You’d think the leather cuff would be somewhat stifling in July heat, but it’s the exact opposite. It’s a heel you can actually walk in without looking like you have some sort of ankle defect. It really does exist!

I can definitely understand $110 being a little on the high end for some. It was for me and I work in high end retail, so again, it’s all relative. But in the end, I know that these will get good use back to skinny pants (as seen in the look that inspired it all), denim, or a classic pencil skirt.
Not to mention, piperlime.com shipped it extremely quickly and for free with the option to return on-the-house if need be. Always reassuring (and I personally think this should be a no-brainer for all retailers who believe in what they sell, eh’ hem).

Did I mention how nicely it was packaged? The little touches won’t make or break it, but they really do help with my perception of a retailer. Makes me very comfortable with coming back for more…

The shopping list I keep is constantly growing so future product reviews are inevitable. For now, it’s about what to wear out there and how to wear it. See more of my latest fashion favorites and how to put them all together.
