What to do with Sam Edelman’s Sweet & Spikey Peep-toe Pump

Sam Edelman’s Pump & How to Wear It:

Don’t let the sweetie-pie facade on the front of this peep-toes confuse you. This rose of a pump has thorns. The silver, spike-covered heel shows it’s face when these puppies walk away from the scene of the crime. Soft vs. hard, yin vs. yang, masculine vs. feminine, and the list goes on when it comes to the fashion paradox I readily admit a personal addiction to.
This is the type of pump a lot of us would shy away from, even if there was an instant attraction. Don’t let the spikes flip you out, there is a way to wear these spiked shoes and own the look. With enough caffeine in my system, I do love a good challenge, so these satin  peep-toes couldn’t have entered the picture at a better time (steaming hot cup of Columbian blend with a dash of cinnamon right next to me). On to how to wear it:
1. Ella Moss “Bodega” Silk Blouse- $148 (www.shopbop.com) 2. Theory “Ranee” Georgette Pants- $285 (www.bloomingdales.com) 3. Sam Edelman “Lorissa” Peeptoe Pumps- $225(www.bloomingdales.com) 4. Urban Expressions Jewel Clutch- $29.95 (www.dsw.com) 5. ABS Pave Silvertone Chain Link Bracelet- $125 (www.maxandchloe.com) 6. ABS Silvertone Disco Ball Pave Ring- $95 (www.maxandchloe.com)
So, the concept of this look is simple. I have a classic black silk blouse paired up with my new obsession pants, Theory’s “Ranee” georgette black pants. Black on black, yes, really. It’s going to act as the clear canvas so the rest of the equation can pop. And by, “rest of the equation,” I’m referring to the spiked peep-toe pumps of course, the ABS pave chain bracelet and cocktail ring, and finally, the jeweled box clutch that’s a steal at under $30 by the way.
The blouse and pants are simple, sophisticated, and really just easy pieces that work well together, but also play well with most everything else hanging (or on the floor, let’s be honest) in your closet.
See? That wasn’t so hard was it? Change up the bag to an over-sized black leather tote with minimal hardware and you have a look for daytime. Done and done.

This pump is a statement pump on all accounts, which makes it a great challenge when it comes to figuring out how to wear it. Pumps saturate the women’s shoe market, but that’s where the editing comes in. See how to wear more pump and shoe favorites.
