Feeling Blue…Silk, from Tibi, in Dress Form. Ok, I gave it away.

Tibi’s Blue Silk Dress & How to Wear It:

All right, I confess, I am obsessed with Tibi. This silk blue dress is ridiculously brilliant. The draping going on here is trans-formative, not the kind that gives you volume where you definitely don’t want it (aka hips for 99% of the female population). The fabric lays in an easy, almost casual goddess-like way, which made me think of going with a look for the daytime. I could think of 10 evening spins on the dress, so for now, the challenge was to show how to wear it while the sun is up, because honestly, it’s the kind of dress I’d want to wear as much as humanly possible, day or night.

1. Tibi Draped Silk Dress- $345 (www.net-a-porter.com) 2. Martine Sitbon Washed Leather Shoulder Bag- $323 (www.bluefly.com) 3. Free People ‘Pazla’ Sandal- $110 (www.freepeople.com) 4. Dannijo ‘Baila’ Gold Ring- $79.50 from $159 (www.shopbop.com) 5. Lola James Bone Beaded Bracelet Set- $185 (www.maxandchloe.com) 6. Diana Warner Martha Studs- $60 (www.nationaljeancompany.com)

The dress is one thing, the rest of the neutral fashion combo for this look can be summed up in just a couple of seconds. The washed leather shoulder bag is nude, goes with anything, carries pretty much anything, and works unbelievably well back to the pop of blue. Keep the neutral trend going strong with the ‘Pazla’ sandal from Free people that has a little teeny wedge. My foot rejects anything without a smidge of a heel, it’s more comfortable, and the strap detail along the front and ankle keep things chic and causal.

Shine time: The ‘Baila’ ring is on my list of things to buy. The blue plays to the dress, and the gold is rich. It’s a statement ring that works under the shine of the sun or glow of the moon. Dannijo is also a name I’ve come to know and love.

A sweet beaded set of bright white bracelets from Lola James adds a spring-like quality to the casual look. And finally, a small square gold stud earring from Diana Warner polishes off the look.

That’s just one of my favorites dresses out there. I have the daunting task of take every fashion pick I drool over and editing them down to the best of the best. See more top dress picks and how to wear them.
