It’s 11/1/11, and with that many 1′s in the date, I’m sure you’ve been attached to at least one forwarded email explaining the significance of this and what it means for the cosmos, your astrological sign, the year of the monkey, and the swimming patterns of dolphins. No clue where dolphins came from, but I’m just going to go with it. It’s that kind of a day.

Today I am going with a skirt/slouchy boot combo. There’s a heavy black element to it with a couple of pops of color in the knit skirt that fits right at the hips and comes out into an a-line. It’s the perfect backdrop to a cream trench. Can I just say how happy it makes me every year around this time when I’m able to pull out my trench? Soooooooo happy. It’s the little things.

Hands on hips, all business, or really I was attempting to show what’s going on under the trench. I’m still so not convinced of the half smile thing going on. Eh, baby steps. The important part is, you see the look.
