Hot Pink, Ruffles, & Wraps = LA Made’s Dress

How to Wear LA Made’s Hot Pink Silk Wrap Dress:

I want to be a dress girl, I really do. It’s just that I seem to have really hit my stride when it comes to my current style comfort zone of skinny black pants, platform pumps, and military-inspired jackets/blazers, the edgier the better.

So, I’m feeling like it may be time to soften things up, take a moment to live on the more feminine side of fashion, and I figured, what better way to walk into this then diving straight into the deep-end by figuring out how to wear this hot pink, silk wrap dress from LA Made? So much for moderation…eh, it’s overrated.

Here’s how I’m wearing the dress:

1. LA Made Lotus Silk Wrap Dress- $47.99 from $106 (www.piperlime.com) 2. Splendid Loose Knit Cardigan- $87 (www.shopbop.com) 3. Belle Sigerson Morrison Metallic Leather Sandals- $175 (www.net-a-porter.com) 4. Botkier Bleeker Hobo- $599 (www.couture.zappos.com) 5. Anthropologie ‘Stargazer’ Ring- $48 (www.anthropologie.com)

This look is super simple. The wrap-front on the dress is universally flattering, and also one of the reasons Diane von Furstenberg is still in business. There’s some decent coverage at the neckline and the straps aren’t too spaghetti-thin, a good thing in my book (if you have broad shoulders, slim straps have a tendency to bring out the linebacker in you, not always a good look, or ever really; I know from personal experience). Even the slightest help with structural details can make a dress like this work far better than it’s flimsy counterparts.

So, hot pink, right. The rest of the look will need neutrals or muted colors to balance it out and let the focus be where it needs to. Cue the flat, metallic sandal working as a neutral on this look alongside the super-soft pinkish-nude hobo from Botkier. Slip on the statement ‘Stargazer’ ring from Anthropologie with it’s flecks of amethyst back to a vintage gold setting to add some dimension. Finally, I love having a cardigan on hand to keep the chill away, and this loose-knit oatmeal-hued number from Splendid is the perfect lightweight piece to keep you stylishly prepared.

This super-saturated, hot pink number is just one pick from the ever-growing list of dress favorites. Check these edited fashion picks out and see how to wear them.
