BCBG’s Wrap-Dress & How to Wear It:
Simply, put, this BCBG wrap dress makes me happy. Finding four takes on how to wear it makes me even more ecstatic. Why I’m loving it: Let’s begin at the top, the v-neckline happens with a wrap-front that keeps things ridiculously flattering. Next, the cinched in waist which allows the focus to sit right at the most narrow part of the body, the actual waist. Finally, the sleeve length keeps things versatile while the details on the skirt bring out the more playful side of the equation. Now, on to how to wear it. Four ways to wear it to be exact…
Look #1:

The first looks is something to wear for daytime, and depending on the office, for wearing to work. The military inspired jacket (or, shop other jacket favorites) is unbelievably affordable and gives some extra volume that mimics the volume on the skirt. It adds a tough edge to a feminine dress. A pop of color comes courtesy of the Oryany, two-tone foldover tote (see other handbags I’m loving and how to wear them). Neutrals elongate the leg in the form of the platform heel (not your style? Check out the other platforms and shoes that have been pulled and put into looks) from House of Harlow with leather cut-outs that have me drooling at the sight of them. Practically Pavlovian really…Finally, these Erin Wasson hoops (shop more hoops and jewelry options) that are on the top of my ever-growing shopping list.

Look #2:

This definitively daytime look brings out the super-sweet and uber-soft side of the BCBG dress. It’s all about pale dusty roses, muted sea foam greens, and basically any other color you’d see lining the walls of the zen den of your dreams.
The knit, wrap-front dress, in the soft beige works well back to the Madewell ‘Tissue’ cardigan (shop more hand-picked cardigans and tops) in one of my top colors ever found in the spectrum, dusty rose. It’s a color that is universally flattering, softening any and all complexions. The flat slipper/shoe (see other shoe options out there, and how to wear ‘em) makes things a bit more casual while keeping it very ‘lady,’ thanks to the vintage-inspired embellishments on the toe. Botkier is a name in handbags that consistently brings wearable and on-trend silhouettes season after season. The ‘Bleeker’ hobo (not a hobo fan? See other handbag shapes out there to work into the look) is slouchy and soft, perfect for this look, and in a soft color that blends right in. Gorjana’s pendant necklace is paired with an amethyst hued statement ring from Anthropologie to polish off the entire look (don’t stop there; check out additional on-trend jewelry options out there).

Look #3

This look is all about the office. Wait, no, I lie. That’s only one half of it. The other hald happens when the blazer comes off and a cocktail comes into the picture.
Theory is a great name to go to for streamlined, well-constructed investment pieces that usually fall into the ‘basic’ but modern category. This blazer (if this blazer had babies, they’d all live here and you would see how to wear them) is a testament to that. That’s just one layer. The business is up top, and the party is at the toes with the help of this cut-out bootie from Velvet Angels. It is the biker element back to the boardroom look, and a juxtaposition that makes things interesting (browse more boots, booties, and shoes worked into looks). Matt & Nat, a line that took eco-friendly and did it right, aka, bags that look better than other leathery or fur-lined accessory options out there. Love Matt & Nat, and love myself a crossbody bag (bag ladies rejoice! there are plenty more options for bags and how to wear them). It’s an excuse to say, “look ma, no hands,” while looking completely styly-savvy. It’s also just a great looking, waxed-leather-ish bag. That black resin ring is a statement in and of itself, with a vintage throwback that only House of Harlow could conceive. Paid that jewelry volume with a softer, but no less gold, crescent earring, and the polished-piece of this look is covered (more polish and shine with other jewelry options out there that have been featured in tons of ensembles).

Look #4

Grenadine love. That’s what I’m talking about with this final and finale of the four looks using the BCBG dress as the foundation.
This is an evening look, no doubt there. The beige on this dress (see more hand-picked dresses) is a definitive neutral tone that works as the perfect canvas back to a full-saturated and practically edible, burgundy red. Enter, the Lauren Merkin hair-calf clutch (shop more clutches and handbags). This clutch looks like that little treasure you find at an estate sale, except, this guy is far easier to get your hands on thanks to www.endless.com. Pour la Victoire adds an exotic element with the ‘Rima’ oxford, open-toe pumps (shop more pumps and shoes hand-picked and worked into looks). These shoes are classic and yet, at the same time, the exotic print makes things very original. Oscar de la Renta earrings keep that classic feel that gets thrown off in all the right ways with the gold plated and enamel ‘tribal’ ring from House of Harlow. It’s feminine and boho, all wrapped into two pieces of jewelry (see all shiny and statement worthy jewelry options, plus how to wear them). Finish it off with a striking red lip, and this final look does the BCBG dress proud. Done and done.
1. BCBG Max Azria Katherine Knit Dress- $238 (www.bcbg.com), 2. Pour La Victoire “Rima” Oxford Pumps- $199.50 from $285 (www.bloomingdales.com) 3. House of Harlow 1960 Enamel & Gold Plated Tribal Ring- $95 (www.ronrobinson.com) 6. Yves Saint Laurent Fard A Levres Rouge Pur- $30 (www.yslbeautyus.com)
